Heidegger Circle 2011

I just recently found out that my paper "What Homer can Teach us about Seynsgeschichte" was accepted for presentation at this year's meeting of the Heidegger Circle. Needless to say, I am very excited and honored.

I will also be responding to Thomas Thorp's paper "'Now that it has left its stump on the mountain;' The Withdrawal of Nature in Iliad I" at this year's meeting of the Ancient Philosophy Society.

Hope to see some of you at one or both of these events.

  1. Should be excellent - you will likely end up rubbing shoulders with a list of people you've been reading for years!

  3. Paul, you are right. Both groups have an amazing collection of members. I have both commented and presented a paper at the Ancient Philosophy Society in the past and I chaired a session at the Heidegger Circle last year. I remember at one point at the Heidegger Circle Bill Richardson contributed to a debate the group was having by referring to conversation he had had with Heidegger about the subject. It isn't often you get first hand insights into Heidegger's thought like that.

  4. Hi Bill,

We met at the rally on Saturday--I was the shorter one of two friends. Really great blog here, and I'm now following.
